In the heart of the Ribera del Duero Wine origins of the Monteabellón.HISTORIA Family settle: For several generations the Garcia family is fully dedicated to viticulture. In 2000, taking advantage of the experience accumulated over decades and know-how in winemaking, founded Bodegas Monteabellón, family winery located in the small town of Nava de Roa. Nava de Roa still retains many wineries and cellars where people formerly elaborated and kept the wine. As in the rest of the Ribera del Duero, its history and traditions are closely related to wine. Our experience has enabled us to produce quality wines in other wine regions of Spain as representative as O.D. Rioja and O.D. Rueda, where we reflect our passion for art in viticulture and winemaking. Our only goal is to produce fine wines, so we conducted a thorough selection work in our vineyards, favoring the low yield per hectare in order to achieve a better result to produce wines that pique your admiración.BODEGA: On-site Monteabellón wineries have used the latest oenological to ensure careful preparation for the total term of the process, maintaining stable levels of temperature and humidity, as in the old cellars, and while controlling the detail aromas and flavors techniques. The wine is aged in oak barrels of which 70% are French oak and 30% American oak. The entire process is carried out in our facilities, from the grape harvest to bottling and etiquetado.VIÑEDOS: All the grapes used for the production of our wine comes from vineyards. Bodegas Monteabellón currently owns 70 hectares of vineyards spread over different plots located in the municipality of Nava de Roa. The different altitudes and diversity in the soils of our vineyards are a reflection of the quality of our wines. All the vineyards are Tempranillo or Tinta del Pais, also exist about 5% Merlot.
