Pillitteri is a family of Sicilian origin who came to Canada in 1940. Gary Pillitteri and his wife took over a farm in Niagara on the Lake in 1965. In 1988, after the opening of the first wineries in the area, Gary took the initiative and began planting grapes in the family's first vineyards.
In 1993 he opened the Pillitery Estates Winery, which already had the capacity to produce up to 16000 bottles. His wines won several awards, obtaining international prestige.
It's all a family business, currently Gary's son, Charles, is CEO and President of Sales, his daughter Connie is President of Operations, his other daughter Lucy is President of Marketing, his son-in-law is Director of Viticulture and his grandsons Richard and Jared are Sales and Export Managers.
