A great Louis Roederer wine harvested exclusively in the Côte de Blancs and made from 100% Chardonnay.
Only a Grand Cru, of which 10% is vinified in oak barrels.
The color is a very pure light gold with bright highlights and some light green. This Grand Cru is then aged for optimal maturation for about 5 years. The wine is then disgorged for at least six months before shipping.
The first attack on the nose is very floral (mainly white fruit flowers) followed by notable touches of citrus fruits such as grapefruit or Menton lemon.
The palate is very velvety and rich with hints of citrus, light toasted brioche and vanilla.
It should be consumed at a temperature between 10 and 12°C
Perfect on toast with caviar, smoked salmon in all seasons and in summer with cubes of Charentais melon.
A very good aging potential for several years.
CURIOSITY Yes : The shocks at the dawn of the 20th century, and especially the First World War, which destroyed more than half of Louis Roederer's wineries, led Léon Olry Roederer to rebuild his vineyard. He decided to buy grapes to guarantee the continuity of the Maison during this period of crisis and, taking advantage of the occasion, he created a non-vintage blended wine, which expresses a constant flavor regardless of the year of harvest, this is the Louis Roederer Brut Premier.
