PREPARATION AND AGEING:
The Régnard Chablis Grand Régnard grapes come from vines that are about 30 years old planted in clayey and calcareous soils from the late Jurassic. The harvest is done manually and the grapes are gently pressed when they arrive at the winery. Afterwards, they ferment and make the malolactic in stainless steel to lower the acidity a bit and give it somewhat lactic touches.
CURIOSITIES:
La Maison Régnard is one of the oldest and most prestigious firms in all of Burgundy and one of the last houses in Chablis to have all of its cellars in the historic center of the city. It was founded in 1860 by Zéphyr Régnard and in 1984 it was Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, owner of the famous domaine that bears his name in the Loire Valley, who took over the estate, perpetuating the style and typicality of the wines. His arrival meant a remarkable modernization of the wineries and the purchase of new vineyards that have allowed Maison Régnard to continue to grow in quality and diversity.
