Gramona is located in the Alt Penedés region, 30 km south of Barcelona. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and moderate winters. Escorted to the north by the majestic rocky mountain of Montserrat, they protect the vineyards during the harshest winters.

Organic and biodynamic viticulture

Based on the careful observation and treatment of the factors that influence the land and its habitat. They do not apply chemical herbicides or pesticides, they use natural resources with the main objective of preserving the balance of the environment and maintaining a spontaneous vegetation cover to achieve fluffy soils. Through biodynamics, a step beyond ecology, they enliven the vineyards and seek to raise the levels of biodiversity: applying plant infusions and decoctions to avoid pests, they make their own preparations and their animal and vegetable compost from the medicinal plant garden and their cow, sheep and horse farm.

Elaboration

The expedition liqueur and its magnificent integration provide softness and elegance. A sparkling wine to accompany the sweetest moments. Doses of 50 grams per litre, which comes from the hundred-year-old solera that provides a unique character, fruit of the experience of the saga. It has been aged for 30 months, a long period of time that is not usual in this type of sparkling wine designed expressly to accompany desserts. This makes it the oldest sweet sparkling wine on the market.

Tasting notes

Sight: Intense straw yellow with golden reflections.
Nose: Deep and intense. Thousand-flower honey. Fruit compote, quince and dried apricots. At the bottom a touch of liquorice, worn flowers. Very pronounced bakery notes blend with hints of sherry from the expedition liqueur.
Mouth: sweet tooth. Fine, well integrated, creamy and full-bodied carbonic acid. Clearly sweet and pleasant finish.
